Curriculum
The completed bachelor degree (including teacher-educating and non-teacher-educating two program) requires 148 or 128 credits. The early childhood teacher-educating program including 20credits of empower specialty, 80 credits of early childhood specialty, 20 credits of education profession, and 28 credits of liberal education. The non-early childhood teacher-educating program including 20 empower specialty, 80 credits of early childhood specialty, and 28 credits of liberal education. There are five areas in the curriculum: education professional (required credit), development and care of young children, curriculum and instruction, preschool special education, day care services, and art education. Under the open and lively curriculum design, students obtain professional and teaching skills and academic knowledge. The master program requires 32 credits, thesis, and oral defense. In addition to the basic 10 credits of research method, students may choose the other 22 credits from the follow four areas: research methodology, early childhood education professional foundations, early childhood education specializations, and thesis writing. Among them, the early childhood education encompasses a variety of areas such as psychology and development, administrative of early childhood education, eastern Taiwan of early childhood education, and curriculum and instruction. Students are encouraged to take courses according to their research interests. After graduation, our students have worked as college or university lecturers, preschool directors and teachers, social workers, and developers of early childhood education related materials and publications. A few of them go further for doctoral studies in Taiwan or abroad. ![]() |
